Why there will never be one path for everyone
Why a recipe for success only ever fits one person.
By Katharina Beer, decision architect ·
People who want to move forward fast often look for solutions on the outside. The new method. The blueprint. The quick recipe for success.
The basic problemIt would be nice if there were one path that works for all people.
But that is not how people work, and that is not how life works.
Everyone brings something different
Everyone brings different prerequisites. Different experiences, different priorities, different goals, different limits.
The key statementWhat works for one person can be completely wrong for the next, even if the solution sounds logical or good.
My stance on moving forward
I have no faith in blueprints for people. For me, moving forward begins with one’s own situation: with what counts for a person, what suits them and what they can and want to bear.
From that arises their own foundation, their benchmark. Another person’s path can be inspiration. One’s own benchmark remains the reference point.
